"Write what disturbs you, what you fear, what you have not been willing to speak about.  Be willing to be split open."

Natalie Goldberg

Mary Shelley, upon meeting the poet who would be the love of her life, wrote that she wanted to write a story that would "speak to the mysterious fears of our nature, and awaken thrilling horror -- one to make the reader dread to look round, to curdle the blood, and quicken the beatings of the heart..."  It is my desire to do the same thing.
